About The Comedy About Spies

The Comedy About Spies returns this summer to the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End. Mischief’s spy comedy follows a rogue British agent who steals plans for a top-secret weapon, bringing CIA and KGB spies to the Piccadilly Hotel in search of the missing file.

The show comes from the team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery. It won Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards 2026 and follows a sold-out 2025 summer season.

Set in the 1960s, this espionage caper centres on confused missions, tangled identities and miscommunication, with a clueless young couple and a hapless actor caught in the middle.

Running time: 2 hours 20 minutes, including a 20-minute interval. This is a limited 8-week run in London’s West End.
