The Comedy About Spies

About The Comedy About Spies

The Comedy About Spies at the Adelphi Theatre is Mischief’s 1960s spy comedy, returning to London’s West End for a limited eight-week run. It was named Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards 2026, following a sold-out 2025 summer season.

When a rogue British agent steals plans for a top-secret weapon, CIA and KGB spies converge on London’s Piccadilly Hotel in search of the missing file. The story follows a clueless young couple, a hapless actor hoping for a spy film role, and a cast of double agents caught up in confusion, mistaken identities and crossed wires.

From Mischief, the team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery, this production brings together tangled missions and miscommunication in a fast-moving spy caper.

Running time: 2 hours 20 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
