The Comedy About Spies returns to the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End for a limited eight-week run this summer. From Mischief, the team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery, it follows a mission that quickly spirals out of control when a rogue British agent steals plans for a top-secret weapon.
The story brings together CIA and KGB spies at London’s Piccadilly Hotel, alongside a clueless young couple and a hapless actor hoping for a spy film role. With double agents, mistaken identities and miscommunication driving the action, it is a 1960s spy comedy built around fast-moving confusion.
The show was a sold-out part of the 2025 summer season and won Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards 2026.
Key facts: Running time is 2 hours and 20 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.
