About The Comedy About Spies

The Comedy About Spies is at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End for a limited 8-week summer run. Following a sold-out 2025 summer season, it returns from Mischief, the team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery.

Set in 1960s London, the story begins when a rogue British agent steals plans for a top-secret weapon. CIA and KGB spies then converge on the Piccadilly Hotel in search of the missing file, alongside a clueless young couple and a hapless actor hoping for a spy film role. The plot turns on confused missions, tangled identities and miscommunication.

The production was named Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards 2026.

Key facts: Running time is 2 hours and 20 minutes, including a 20-minute interval. Age guidance is 10+. The current London run is limited to 8 weeks.
