About The Comedy About Spies

The Comedy About Spies returns to the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End for a limited 8-week season. Created by Mischief, the team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery, it was named Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards 2026.

Set in 1960s London, the story follows a rogue British agent who steals plans for a top-secret weapon. CIA and KGB spies gather at London’s Piccadilly Hotel in search of the file, while a clueless young couple and a hapless actor are drawn into the confusion.

Following a sold-out 2025 summer season, the production brings together confused missions, tangled identities and miscommunication as the action escalates.

Running time: 2 hours 20 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.

Age recommendation is 10+. Children under the age of 4 will not be admitted into the theatre. No exchanges or refunds are available.
