Tao Of Glass at 4 Soho Place in London is a West End premiere from composer Philip Glass and performer-director Phelim McDermott (Improbable).
Inspired by a dream, the show brings together ten meditations on life, death and Taoist wisdom with ten brand new pieces of music by Glass. Presented with an ensemble of musicians and puppeteers, it is part-concert, part-performance and built as a storytelling tapestry around Glass’s music and Improbable’s theatrical style.
The production has received five-star reviews from The Guardian, The Times and What’s On Stage, with four-star notices from The Telegraph, The Observer and The Arts Desk. It is produced by Factory International, Improbable and Nica Burns.
Key facts: Running time is 2 hours 30 minutes, including an interval. Suitable for ages 12+. Runs from 25th July to 12th September.
