About

A poetry-performing crocodile takes to the stage in this inventive, character-driven spoken word show blending humour, surreal imagery and theatrical flair. Erasmus Croc and Aaron Wright deliver a lively, audience-friendly performance packed with unexpected laughter and a touch of the uncanny.

Prepare yourself for a magical hour of inventive verse and unexpected laughter as Erasmus Croc, the world's first poetry crocodile, had his human protégé, Aaron Wright, take to the stage with a playful, character-driven approach to spoken word.

Partners in rhyme, they bring words to life with humour, heart and a dash of delightful chaos.  Using low-tech props, bubbles and strong vocal performance, the show is flexible, portable and adaptable to a range of venue, while maintaining strong visual and auditory impact.

Its often surreal imagery, possessed tumble dryers, blinged up slugs, sits alongside reflections on creativity, connection and the absurdities of everyday life. The performance blends sharp writing with theatrical energy and a generous splash of reptilian mischief.

Whether you are a seasoned poetry lover or completely new to spoken word, this is a warm, welcoming show that invites audiences in. It is the kind of performance people talk about afterwards: a poetry-performing crocodile guiding audiences through his version of life alongside his human protégé... though not all presences are quite so friendly, with a special appearance from Black Shuck, the legendary monster dog.

Erasmus Croc is a rhythmic, poetic, and comedic force, while Aaron Wright provides grounding and warmth. together, they create a live dynamic that balances absurdity with sincerity. Filled with energy, enthusiasm and a distinctive mentor/protégé relationship, this is a Fringe experience audiences are unlikely to forget.
