EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions apply to tickets purchased for and attendance at events held at The Room
By purchasing a ticket and/or attending an event, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, the Venue's policies and all reasonable instructions given by Venue management, security and staff.
1. Tickets
1.1 Tickets are valid only for the event, date and ticket type stated on the ticket.
1.2 Each ticket permits one person to attend the relevant event unless otherwise stated.
1.3 Tickets must be purchased through an authorised ticketing platform or authorised seller.
1.4 Tickets should not be purchased from unauthorised third parties. We reserve the right to refuse admission where a ticket is suspected to be counterfeit, duplicated, fraudulently obtained or otherwise invalid.
1.5 Customers are responsible for keeping their tickets safe and ensuring that their ticket is available for inspection on arrival.
1.6 Tickets may not be resold for profit or commercial gain unless expressly authorised by the Venue or ticketing provider.
1.7 Ticket resale and transfer arrangements are subject to the rules of the ticketing platform and applicable law.
2. Age Restrictions and Identification
2.1 Unless expressly stated otherwise, events at the Venue are 18+.
2.2 Valid photographic identification may be required before admission.
2.3 Acceptable forms of identification are those accepted by the Venue's identification policy and may include a valid passport, UK/Scottish driving licence or recognised proof-of-age card.
2.4 Photographs, photocopies or digital images of identification may not be accepted.
2.5 The Venue operates an Age Verification/Challenge 25 policy in accordance with Scottish licensing requirements.
2.6 Anyone unable to provide acceptable identification when required may be refused entry or refused alcohol service.
3. Admission
3.1 A valid ticket does not guarantee admission where entry would conflict with the Venue's licensing requirements, capacity restrictions, safety requirements or other lawful requirements.
3.2 Management reserves the right to refuse admission or remove a person from the Venue where reasonably necessary, including where a person:
- is intoxicated or appears to be under the influence of drugs;
- behaves aggressively, abusively or threateningly;
- behaves in a manner that may compromise the safety of others;
- refuses a reasonable security or safety requirement;
- attempts to enter using an invalid or fraudulent ticket;
- is in possession of a prohibited item; or
- otherwise breaches these Terms & Conditions or Venue rules.
3.3 Where admission is refused or a person is removed because of their own behaviour or because they are intoxicated, a refund will not normally be due, subject always to applicable consumer law.
3.4 The Venue will not discriminate unlawfully when applying its admission policies.
4. Security Searches
4.1 For the safety and security of customers, staff and performers, security searches may be carried out on entry or during the event.
4.2 Customers may be asked to cooperate with reasonable searches in accordance with Venue policy.
4.3 Anyone refusing a required security check may be refused admission.
4.4 Searches will be conducted in accordance with applicable law and the Venue's security procedures.
5. Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited unless expressly authorised:
- Weapons or items capable of being used as weapons;
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances;
- Outside alcohol;
- Glass bottles or containers;
- Flares, fireworks or pyrotechnics;
- Offensive or dangerous items;
- Items that could create a safety risk; and
- Any other item prohibited by the Venue or its security team.
5.1 Prohibited items may be refused entry, confiscated where lawful, or referred to Police Scotland where appropriate.
6. Alcohol
6.1 Alcohol will only be sold and supplied in accordance with Scottish licensing legislation and the Venue's premises licence.
6.2 The Venue operates an Age Verification/Challenge 25 policy.
6.3 Staff may refuse the sale or supply of alcohol where they reasonably believe that a customer is underage or intoxicated.
6.4 Customers must not purchase alcohol for anyone who is underage where doing so would breach the law.
6.5 Responsible drinking is expected at all times.
7. Drugs and Illegal Activity
7.1 The possession, use or supply of illegal drugs at the Venue is prohibited.
7.2 The Venue operates a zero-tolerance approach to illegal drugs and other criminal activity.
7.3 Where appropriate, suspected illegal activity may be reported to Police Scotland.
8. Behaviour
8.1 Customers are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully towards other customers, staff, security and performers.
8.2 Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, violent or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.
8.3 Any customer behaving in such a manner may be removed from the Venue and, where appropriate, reported to the police.
9. Event Changes
9.1 The Venue reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event, including changes to performers, DJs, timings, layout or other event arrangements.
9.2 Where a change is material and significantly alters the event for which the customer purchased a ticket, the Venue will consider the customer's rights in accordance with applicable consumer law.
9.3 If an event is cancelled, customers will be informed of the applicable refund or alternative arrangements.
9.4 If an event is postponed or rescheduled, ticket holders will be informed of the options available to them.
10. Refunds
10.1 Except where required by law, tickets are not refundable simply because a customer changes their mind, cannot attend or arrives after the event has started.
10.2 Where the Venue cancels an event, applicable refunds will be offered in accordance with the circumstances of the cancellation and applicable consumer law.
10.3 Where an event is rescheduled or materially changed, customers will be provided with information about any applicable refund or transfer arrangements.
10.4 Any refund of booking fees or other charges will be dealt with in accordance with the terms of the relevant ticketing provider and applicable law.
10.5 Customers should contact the ticketing provider in the first instance where the ticket was purchased through a third-party platform.
11. Late Arrival and Re-Entry
11.1 Late admission may be permitted at management's discretion and subject to licensing, safety and capacity requirements.
11.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise, tickets do not guarantee re-entry after leaving the Venue.
11.3 Where re-entry is permitted, customers may be required to undergo a further security check.
12. Dress Code
12.1 The Venue may operate a dress code for particular events.
12.2 Any applicable dress code will be stated on the event listing or communicated before the event.
12.3 Dress-code requirements will be applied fairly and consistently and will not unlawfully discriminate against customers.
13. Accessibility
13.1 Please note that access to the Venue is via stairs and there is currently no alternative step-free or accessible entrance. Accessibility to the Venue is therefore restricted for customers who use wheelchairs or who have mobility difficulties.
13.2 Customers with accessibility requirements are strongly encouraged to contact the Venue before purchasing a ticket to discuss the access arrangements and any reasonable adjustments that may be available.
13.3 While the Venue will consider reasonable adjustments where practicable and appropriate, customers should be aware that the physical layout and stair access may mean that the Venue is not suitable for everyone.

13.5 The Venue will seek to comply with its obligations under applicable equality legislation and will consider reasonable requests for adjustments on an individual basis.
14. Photography and Filming
14.1 Photography and filming may take place at events for promotional, marketing and social media purposes.
14.2 Customers attending the event acknowledge that they may appear incidentally in general crowd or event footage.
14.3 Where appropriate, specific consent will be sought for identifiable promotional uses requiring consent.
14.4 Anyone who does not wish to participate in promotional photography or filming should speak to a member of Venue management.
14.5 The Venue will handle personal information and imagery in accordance with its applicable privacy notice and data protection obligations.
15. Personal Belongings
15.1 Customers are responsible for their own personal belongings.
15.2 The Venue is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal property except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
15.3 Where a cloakroom is provided, its specific terms will apply.
16. Health and Safety
16.1 Customers must comply with reasonable health and safety instructions from Venue staff, security and emergency personnel.
16.2 Customers must not obstruct emergency exits, fire safety equipment or designated access routes.
16.3 In an emergency, customers must follow staff instructions and evacuate the Venue when instructed.
17. Capacity and Licensing
17.1 Entry is subject to the Venue's permitted capacity and licensing requirements.
17.2 The Venue may temporarily restrict entry even where a customer holds a valid ticket where necessary to comply with capacity, safety or licensing requirements.
17.3 All events will be operated in accordance with the Venue's applicable premises licence, operating plan and relevant legal requirements.
18. Customer Conduct and Equality
18.1 The Venue is committed to providing an environment free from unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
18.2 Customers must not engage in discriminatory, threatening or abusive behaviour towards other customers, staff or performers.
18.3 Any action taken under these Terms & Conditions will be subject to applicable equality and consumer protection law.
19. Liability
19.1 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
19.2 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects a customer's statutory rights.
19.3 Subject to the above, customers attend events at their own responsibility and should take reasonable care of themselves and their belongings.

20.1 Customers who have a concern regarding an event should contact:

21. Privacy

22. Changes to These Terms
22.1 We may update these Terms & Conditions where reasonably necessary, provided that any changes will not unlawfully remove or reduce rights that customers already have.
23. Governing Law
23.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law applicable in Scotland.
23.2 Any disputes will be dealt with in accordance with applicable Scottish and UK law
