Funhouse Comedy Club - New Comedy Night

Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at Netherseal Sports Club on Saturday September 19th.

Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”

Topping the bill is Perrier Award Winner, author, broadcaster and comedian Dominic Holland, father of Spiderman actor Tom Holland. He has made numerous appearances on radio and TV including ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘The Clive James Show’, ‘The Royal Variety Show’ and ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’. His talent for spotting people’s eccentricities and mixing in the fine-points make his observations quite unique and his appealing stage persona has the audience immediately entranced.

Opening the night will be the affable Ben Norris who has appeared on TV’s ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and ‘Mock the Week’ as well as being the voice on campaigns for Carling and Emirates. Once when he was the warm-up man for ‘Mock the Week’ he had to stand in for Frankie Boyle who was rushed to hospital. A natural comedian, his sharp mind-set and supply of clever lines keep the crowd totally absorbed.

Completing the line-up is David Eagle, winner of Nottingham Comedy Festival New Comedian Of The Year and member of three-time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winning band The Young’uns, with his various side-splitting-stories about being blind.

Compere for the night will be the cheeky and friendly Stevie Gray with his boundless energy and mix of news and comedy.
