Captain Breadbeard's Alternative Comedy Night

Dave Watt (aka Captain Breadbeard) hosts his monthly alternative stand-up  comedy night in the heart of Canterbury.

October's special guests include Dru Cripps, Sam Wall, Orlando Gibbs and Halima Habil!

Dru Cripps 

Dru Cripps has five comedy awards all of varying acclaim. Cripps is a two time British Comedy Guide award winner, he won first place in the musical comedy awards 2026, the Malcolm Hardee award… etc. Seen in viral clips online or for various tv work (DAVE, ITV, BBC) Cripps is one of the only comics on the planet to: be given 2 grand for making KSI laugh and for getting an Encore from the audience at the Comedy Store after being crowned champion at its King Gong competition. Cripps is steadily becoming one of the hottest alt acts In the country, playing all the big comedy clubs (that usually turn their nose up at alt acts/clowns) theatres and massive festival stages. His Edinburgh fringe show got nominated for best show, sold out its run and has been given 5 five stars from various papers. The Scotsman called him: “Legendary”.

Sam Walls

Sam Walls is a member of the 5 star, award winning comedy group Bad Clowns, who has recently created his own 5 star solo comedy show. Described as "silly, bonkers, and clever" and "pure joy and ridiculousness", Sam thrives with unexpected twists and audience shenanigans.

Orlando Gibbs 

Orlando is a dweeby posh comedian (Kingston and Surbiton Comedian of the Year Final 2026, West End New Act Finalist 2024, Musical Comedy Awards finalist 2022 and 2021), and for the past 2 years he has been starring as a lead in the West End Production of Back To The Future: The Musical.

Halima Habil

Halima Habil is a Romanian-Moroccan, Gaulier-trained clown and drag king. Fresh off the Edinburgh fringe, Halima effortlessly blends absurdity, emotion and comedy  - every moment feels unpredictable.
