What is Bembé?

A bembé is a Cuban drum celebration - part ceremony, part party.

It's where the rhythm does the talking.

Every July, Santiago de Cuba fills with drums for the Festival delCaribe: Haitian and Dominican groups parading through the streetsplaying gagá - raw, relentless, ritual. Kam Cuba grew up in thatcity, watching it every year. Then he left Cuba, and years laterfound electronic music - a way to keep speaking when the languageno longer travelled.

BEMBÉ is those two lives meeting. Named after his new single, this is the first time Kam Cuba performs the music from his forthcoming album Afro-Alchemy as a live A/V set - not a DJ set: the music is played live, with a ritual visual world projected around the room.

• Children (under 15) come for free between 7pm - 9pm, over 18s only after 9pm.
