This October, Kate Bush and Art on a Postcard have joined forces to invite 52 artists to create artwork to respond to a lyric from her iconic 1985 anthem Running Up That Hill for the return of Sound & Vision 2025, all in aid of War Child. Collated into an innovative fundraising initiative, exhibition, and auction, the initiative couples music and art to raise vital funds for children caught in war zones around the world.

The lyric inspiring the art, chosen by Kate herself, is the legendary: "And if I only could, I’d make a deal with God. The Online Auction for the works opens today, running until the 13th November, with the Exhibition running at the Iconic Images Gallery in London from the 4th - 8th November.

The Auction for the artwork opens today! Find images of all the artwork created for the exhibit, alongside information on how to bid - HERE

Artists featured include celebrated figures like “The original bad girl of British art,” Maggi Hambling CBE; the illustrious Peter Doig, who is widely seen as one of Britain’s most important living painters; and Charlie Calder-Potts, "Britain’s youngest female war artist"; alongside the late blooming phenomenon, Unskilled Worker (aka Helen Dowdie); Corbin Shaw, the cult textile, print, and flag artists portraying Britishness through ancient craft; artist-in-residence at St Pauls Cathedral, Susie Hamilton; and Future Awards Africa winner, Ayobola Kekere-Ekun.

Curated by Art on a Postcard founder Gemma Peppé, Sound & Vision 2025 also features new work from LUAP, Hannah Lim, Kate Crickard, Erin Lawlor, Gill Button, Adam Dix, David Harrison, Gideon Rubin, Boo Saville, Shezad Dawood, Natalia González Martín, and returning to Sound & Vision for 2025, Peter Messer and Nick Grindrod.

On the project, Kate Bush said: “All wars leave horrific scars - ruined lives, families ripped apart, life-changing injuries, trauma, and loss on a massive scale - but it’s the children who suffer the most in so many ways.

"Their past, present, and future melt away into fear and uncertainty. It is more important than ever that we support War Child and their invaluable work providing immediate aid to children caught in conflict all over the world, including in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, and Syria.

"Projects like Sound & Vision harness the power of art and music to make a real difference to children living through war. Thank you for supporting this project.”
