Take a look below to see our latest recommendations.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - Sunburned In London
Aussie band Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are back, with their first new music since 2022. It’s a typically sunny affair from a band who don’t recognise any other season. We join them on travels during summers gone by, flitting between London, Tokyo, Oslo and more. It’s as if the guitar strings themselves are wearing sunglasses, as the band locks into a laidback flow. ‘Sunburned In London’ is the perfect relaxer to take you through 2026.
Don’t listen to this one for too long, otherwise you’ll be manically craving the first crisp cold one of the summer.
Friko - Seven Degrees
The new Friko track feels instantly nostalgic, helped by the graceful and poignant vocal performance of Nikon Kapetan. The harmonies that creep in with increased frequency are reminiscent of Beatles songs. Once the song is in its full flow, it absolutely soars, taking you along for the ride.
Charlotte De Witte feat Conduit - A Prayer For The Dancefloor
The new Charlotte De Witte track is gloriously gloomy. Linking up with Conduit, he delivers a spoken word passage about the sacred spaces we call the dancefloor. Amongst wiry, repetitious techno, it feels like a communal experience even if you’re dancing on your own.
Ray Bull - All That You Are
Ray Bull is a New York duo whose new album, Please Stop Laughing, will be released on May 8th. The first single, ‘All That You Are’, utilises swooning strings over acoustic guitar to completely blow you away. The track has small synth sections throughout, which really help to layer up the arrangement. The chorus is simply exquisite, a perfect crossover of synth pop and traditional pop classics.
The Leaving - Pray
The Leaving is a new band formed by Martin Doherty and Jonny Scott, the former being a member of CHVRCHES. So, you can imagine the type of production plastered throughout ‘Pray’. The rush of electronics here is an endorphin rush that’ll live long in your memory.
Fisher - Rain
Fisher is back with his first single of 2026. A typically buoyant beat, it feels as though it's primed for summer nights. Revolving around luscious synths and an addictive vocal hook, it has already been a hit for the DJ on tour, and that energy can now follow you on the go.
Swim Deep - Pieces Of You
An uplifting return for indie band Swim Deep, it’s a sugary slice of pop music that fans have become accustomed to over the course of their career. The track has a sense of tranquility, a contentment that results in a hazy, dreamlike glow.
Alexis Taylor - For A Toy
Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor is back with more solo music. It’s definitely a different energy to his group work, with ‘For A Toy’ being more of a downtrodden self-analysing track. Largely revolving around a piano melody, slowly and surely guitar riffs and ethereal textures begin to orbit the melody.
Power Snatch - Assignment
Hayley Williams has been busy recently with her most recent solo work coming out at the end of 2025. Now, she has started another band, apologies to those wanting more Paramore. Power Snatch’s debut single is splendidly dark and weird. Williams’ delivery is like she’s allowed us into a stream of consciousness we were never supposed to see. The band also has a short EP out that is only available on Bandcamp.
Eastern Bloc record pick - Peverlist: Roll With The Punches
This week, Eastern Bloc have our spotlight pick. The Manchester-based store has a storied history in the city’s musical history. Established in 1985 by John Berry and Martin Price (808 State), they were originally located in Afflecks Palace before moving to Stevenson Square in 2011. Helping to launch some of the key artists during the ‘Madchester’ era, countless musical legends have come through their doors.
We’re pleased to have them pick a key release for this week’s Next Up. The've picked a new release of a classic, foundational bass music track. On the single, the store said: "This seminal Bristol 12-inch from Peverelist defines the Punch Drunk aesthetic, pairing a relentless, rolling percussion swing with deep, sub-weighted pressure that remains a foundational blueprint for the tectonic shifts in UK bass music."
"A good friend once told me 'this tune sounds like a Sailor's funeral,' (quote from Jim Fortune) I would have to agree. It also get the job done in a full on rave, every-time. Heavy weight and timeless track."
You can pick Peverlist's 'Roll With The Punches' on vinyl now, on Eastern Bloc's website.
Make sure you follow Eastern Bloc here, this week's pick came from Jim Bane.
