It's the news that will divide many Stone Roses fans, but reports suggest the band will release their first album in over two decades.

Expected to be released in the run up to the live dates in Manchester and Scotland, the news follows a number of cryptic clues that signalled big news from the band.

The album will follow the release of the Second Coming in 1994, a record that suffered from the weight of expectation due to the seismic impact of their eponymous debut.

The band last toured in 2013, playing a handful of European dates and three homecoming shows at Heaton Park. If the success of those comeback shows is to be repeated, then we lie in hope that their new material matches the heights of a bygone era.
