The Saturday line-up at Kraak Gallery (which is incidentally is due to close it's doors in September) is a mouth watering mixture of lo-fi scuzz, DIY punk, indie noise and more, as well as a number of other events such as a mini-zine festival hosted by North West Zine Fest and more.

Kicking the day off we have the lo-fi noise duo Freedom Screech who have been making waves with their delicate melodies buried under layers of fuzz and distortion that bring to mind early Cat Power and Galaxie 500. Next off Edinburgh musician Jim Gage of Passion Pusher will be making his Manchester debut, his songs somehow remind us of Jonathan Richman, with other influences such as Mac Demarco and Ty Segall.

Following this we have London trio Sweetheart who bring a DIY punk attitude that crosses the Desperate Bicycles with Minor Threat/ Black Flag. We then have another London band Soft Drinks, although we were already familiar with Dan's music via the bands Sir Yes Sir and Waterworld. He continues to display his ability to write instantly memorable and original lo-fi pop songs.

We then have a short break followed by Leeds experimental pop band Commiserations, with a sound similar to bands like Huggy Bear and God Is My Co-pilot. Seeds of Doubt then follow, with some definite New Zealand/ Flying Nun influences and a bunch of excellent releases already recorded.

Next up with have Glasgow's Spinning Coin, who although are a new band are made up of members of numerous Glasgow bands such as Plaaydoh, Passion Pusher and more. Their songs bring the jangle of Orange Juice and Teenage Fanclub, along with some more discordant and experimental tunes.

If that wasn't enough we then have London based garage pop band Slowcoaches. Since the first time we heard them we've been eagerly anticipating each new release and were delighted when they agreed to play at this year's event. Think Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jnr or the Swirlies.

And last up we have Brighton based musician Keel Her, who has become known for her delicate lo-fi recordings (at one point she was releasing one song a day on soundcloud), mixing dreamy pop with garage, surf and electronic meanderings.

As well as all the great bands we also have a mini zine festival hosted by North West Zine Fest, the launch of a new edition of the Chapess fanzine and a dj set by Ladyfest Manchester.
