With Lowdon & Dirty covering all avenues of electronic dance music, the Manchester night has become renowned for being the place to be to hear an eclectic selection of bass-heavy breakbeat, electro, techno, house and more in one fantastic party atmosphere.

We've looked ahead at some of the forthcoming gigs thrown by the cutting edge underground night...

21st September - A.Skillz, Far Too Loud & Woz

A.Skillz is one of those talents that is completely at ease no matter what genre he’s playing. With his sets regularly wading between funk, soul, hip hop, D'n'B, dubstep and breaks, nobody incites a rave quite like A.Skillz. He’ll be joined by Far Too Loud, who in recent times has gained a reputation for hi-tech, dancefloor-destroying music that makes people throw their hands in the air and go crazy. His high octane aggressive funk, big basslines, and crazy edits have won him fans the world over.

12th October - James Lavelle

Mo’ Wax originator and member of UNKLE - James Lavelle, enters through the Sound Control doors mid way through October. As one of the most respected producers in Britain, his extensive back catalogue and forward thinking approach have lead him to record four albums with UNKLE, collaborating with everyone from DJ Shadow to Thom Yorke, release mixes for Fabric and Global Underground, as well as embracing a heavy touring schedule. With new material always on the way, James Lavelle remains one of the most important producers working today. His set will be unmissable.

9th November - Alex Metric

Alex Metric is a producer that plays by his own rules. Combining elements of French house, rock music, rave, and electro into one mesmerizing whole, the British producer has been creating some of the most honest and heartfelt dancefloor destroying tracks for some time now. With a passion for his craft that remains unparalleled, his live performances are a standout example of connecting emotive resonance with a strictly dancefloor sensibility.

30th November - Dub Pistols

Back in 1996, Dub Pistols had already honed their beatwise dancefloor sound, and had begun a campaign to change the face of the previously formulaic dance music scene. Their sounds are a heady mixture of hip hop, ska and tough breakbeats, making it hard to pigeonhole, but a veritable success on the dancefloor. The 30th Of November is a chance to see the genuine innovators tear up the Sound Control venue.

7th December - Stanton Warriors

Famed for incorporating exclusive original tracks alongside homemade edits and remixes of cutting edge sounds in their sets, Stanton Warriors have forged a sound that is uniquely their own. Varying between underground house through to abstract hip hop and everything in between, their sets play out as a melting pot of low down, low slung electro. For well over a decade now, Stanton Warriors have been a DJing and production team in a league of their own - their arrival at Lowdown & Dirty can’t come soon enough.
