After the massive success of Metropolis and Wax:Ons launch night at Sheffields O2 Academy, which saw Annie Mac, Krafty Kuts, Benga and many many more smash the venue to absolute pieces, these two huge Northern party brands are back to once again thrill the crowd with the finest beats in DrumnBass, Breaks, Hip Hop, Dubstep and Electro.
With a new line up this time round, and a hell of a lot more fans gained after their blinding launch, expect tickets to sell out fast as word catches on in Sheffield that this is the deep, dirty bass fest youve been waiting for
First up is German Tech/Elec DJ and Producer, Boys Noize. Enjoying massive success after remixes for the likes of Tiga, Depeche Mode and Bloc Party, as well as his own record label Boys Noize records, this is one DJ who has truly earned his stripes as one of the coolest in his field. Expect high-energy electronic warfare and a truly diverse musical palette to keep the mammoth main room rocking through the early hours.
Needing no introduction at all is DrumnBass heavyweight, Hype. A front runner in the scene since the early days his indisputable ability to bring a crowd to their knees has driven his meteoric rise to now legendary status.
Skream is one of the original Dubstep warriors. Birthing their own genre, these Croydon guys have provided a whole new direction in the DrumnBass world that is seeing the sound grow at an unstoppable pace. His genre bending productions draw influence from minimal tech to deep bass with regular flashes of mind crushing electro, and are the drive behind his now much famed name and reputation for top class productions and some of the mentalist party antics youre likely to find.
Brodinski is described as one of the most exciting DJ and Producers to hit the scene in recent years, as this French deck wizard moves seamlessly between the rowdiest techno, through to achingly cool minimal and deep, dark house all rammed solidly with the most crowd bending bass.
The hugely successful Netherlands production trio, Noisia, had an incredible 2008. Not only were they asked to remix Moby, they released a Fabric Live CD and endlessly toured the world. As DJs, you can expect a diversity in their sets that pulls in everything from breaks to Hip Hop whilst working with ease around their main DrumnBass sound.
Another front-runner in the Dubstep world, Caspa rose to fame rapidly after completing a Fabric live CD alongside long time friend and collaborator, Rusko. Now resident at London clubbing institution that is Fabric, as well as regularly performing to sell out crowds in all four corners of the globe, theres no doubt at all why he leaves his crowds short of breath and needing a sit down.
Metropolis & Wax:On have pulled yet another blinder out of the bag and are ready to provide Sheffield with the biggest mash-up its seen in a long time, let the beatdown begin
