Somerset's Farmfestival is gaining ever increasing momentum as the days count down to the start of the festival. With the likes of Crazy P, Ghostpoet, Art Brut, Luke Unabomber and Chicken Lips already announced, further additions to the lineup are proving to only heighten our anticipation.

Some of the new additions to lineup include the stunningly original Australian saxophone, beatboxing, and loop pedal medaller Mr Woodnote, touring partner and MC Lil Rhys, and Dub Mafia’s very own bass obsessed Eva Lazarus.

Joining them will be Bristolian Reggae troupe One Shot. The largely instrumental 6 piece are infamous for their party starting antics, as their funk infused dub reggae sound has gained much praise in their hometown. Babeshadow will round off the arrival of the newcomers, as the leftfield pop duo are preparing to bring some guaranteed sunshine to proceedings. Have a listen to their single Sea Serpents below, and try not to be charmed by their catchy pop hooks and intricate guitar noodling prowess.

Being a festival where audience involvement is actively encouraged, alongside their DJ competition they have launched a songwriting competition. This gives one budding songwriter the chance to appear on stage at the festival, an opportunity that will be hotly coveted! All you have to do is write a song which includes references to farm, farmfest, or Farmfestival into the title or lyrics, and you could be one of the lucky ones to get to play at this year’s edition of the festival. The more inventive the better, so get pen to paper, dust the guitar off, and get jamming!

To get you in the mood for Farmfestival, Bristol's very own Paulo Fernandez has compiled a vinyl only summer DJ mix entitled ‘Beats ‘n’ Bleats’ that plays out as a round the globe journey from funky afrobeat excursions, to exotic salsa swing, and beyond. It’s an infectious compilation of sunny world music that is guaranteed to brighten up your day! Have a listen below:
