In a little under 3 days, one of our favourite Manchester venues, Sound Control, will play host to a new night, aiming to bring contemporary, cutting edge house music to like minded individuals and with Anthea & Alex Celler B2B all night long, their first night promises to be a hit. Expect a good range of fresh music on the night, from Groovy Deep House to Driving Tech House, with some cracking line-ups in store.

Opening the night, back to back with Alex Celler, is Anthea (Brouqade/All Inn/Desolat), one of the few artists that we can use the term underground without cringing. Currently based in Berlin, acquiring a distinctive, tasteful sound to her already experienced and crowd pleasing sets. Previously of Flying Records and Phonica Records, her sound meanders between funk-fuelled house and techno, with a flair for intrinsically deep and boisterous basslines where the groove is key, will be welcomed with opening arms by the Manchester faithful. Showcasing her experience, she continues to wow crowds in Ibiza, Moscow, Berlin and Londons Fabric, if you are truly into the music, the vibe, knowledge and depth that Anthea will bring should be a real treat in November.

OK, so when we first heard about this night, Alex Celler (Cecille/Area Remote) was one of only 2 acts that had more than one track in Resident Advisors top 30 char tOF ALL TIME. So if you havent heard the name, surely that credential alone is a huge measure of the talent Alex will bring to town. With his energetic and intense, tech house / techno sound full of swing, complex rhythms & deep basslines bouncing off against Anthea should prove for a an awesome spectacle for any music lover, keeping the dance floor jam-packed, the quality levels up against the ceiling. As a true dance music and vinyl fanatic, his comfort zone expands from the main stage at clubs such as Fabric Space, Amnesia to the small, down and dirty bars and clubs, so Sound Control should provide a great venue to see him up close and personal.

You can tell were game for this night and with the newly opened Gorilla hosting massive parties with Jack Beats recently, the Warehouse Project in full swing, Sankeys and Venus providing their usually high standard of nights, we would not be recommending this night if we didnt believe it had potential. Were heading down, so we recommend you do the same. For a tenner, youd be daft not to.
