Blackpool?s longest established comedy night ?The Comedy Station? celebrates a milestone next Thursday as the popular night celebrates with a first anniversary party at VIVA Blackpool.
Gareth Berliner headlines a special night next Thursday 6th March joined by host Ryan Gleeson and 2 other acts for the first birthday bash!
Gareth Berliner took to stand-up since in 2004, Since then he's gigged across the UK and Internationally, on a bus, on a plane, overseas , on Radio 4 (Cracking Up!), doing corporate work, ensemble at Soho Theatre, The Science Museum, , supporting Major acts on tour (Tom Stade & Hal Cruttenden ),MC'ing for Boris Johnson and even once? in disguise?as Woody Allen! He's also a star of hit show's Abnormally Funny People, Cracking Up, Gutless, Gareth Berliner : An INCH of Integrity, A Little Commitment, The Short and the Long of It.
In 2012 he performed a new show, Gareth Berliner : An INCH of Integrity at the Adelaide Fringe which was well received as well as gigging at The Sydney Comedy Store, he's currently developing a double-act with his Wife , actress and comedian Kiruna Stamell (BBC's Lifes to Short / Ch 4's Cast Offs) called, Whisky and Dry. They recently performed their first set as headliners and will be seen next year in their debut show, One of Us Will Die at The Citadel in Liverpool as well as Leicester Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival
He has performed Internationally in Israel, New York, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane as well as in Europe in Dublin, Belfast, Jersey.
Guernsey and Berlin. He?s worked with and for Abnormally Funny People (A Disability comedy ensemble) working for them regularly at a corporate level as well as in their shows at Soho Theatre in London?s West-End both as an MC and an Act. Also with and for Lift The Lid Productions in their Stand-up show, Cracking Up, about Mental Health. He also works with and for Silver Comedy. Providing comedy engagement for people with early onset Alzheimer?s.
Host Ryan Gleeson will MC the evening, joined by 2 other comics for the night ? the identity of which he is keeping secret for the time being.
?It?s going to be another top night of comedy? said Ryan. ?The residency at VIVA has just got better and better as the year has gone on. The venue have worked really hard to support us and I know there?s a big announcement coming up as we go weekly with the Comedy Nights in season on top of the first Thursday of the month shows. Next Thursday, we?ll celebrate our first year in style so we want as many of our locals and regulars to join us as possible!?
