Get ready to immerse yourself in a festival like none other Kent has seen before as Downtown Festival takes over Rochester Castle. Join in on July 5th for an unforgettable experience with friends and family, where the stone walls of Rochester meet the echoing sounds of the UK indie music scene. What to expect:

Indie Extravaganza: Downtown is all about the music that moves you, with KAISER CHIEFS headlining the first edition. Expect to see more of the UK's most talented indie bands.

Medieval Vibes: Picture this – a festival in a 12th century royal castle, one of the best preserved in the UK.

Beyond the Music: Delicious local food, local artisan stalls, fair rides and more. Meet other music lovers, discover new artists, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

By Car For those driving to the events, there is no parking directly on site, limited parking availability in close proximity and local road closures may lead to congestion, especially before and after the concerts, however there are a number of pay and display (mainly coin operated) car parks located nearby. By Bus Bus Services in Rochester are operated by Arriva and Nu Venture, use bus routes 190 and 700. Alight in Corporation Street which is a short distance to the castle. By Train Full details regarding all of the available train times to and from Strood, Rochester, and Chatham stations can be checked on National Rail. Given the excellent public transport links along the Medway coast and into and out of London, we strongly recommend utilising train or bus services for transportation to Rochester Castle Live Events.The nearest train stations are Rochester (5-minute walk), Strood (10-minute walk).
