ROOTS: School's out, What's next?

On 16th July, Electric Daisy becomes a hands-on marketplace of ideas, skills and possibilities. Try DJ workshops, screen printing, woodworking, creating your own products through Waste to Wonder and more.

ROOTS encourages you to explore your interests, build confidence, recognise your strengths and discover the opportunities available to you locally. Chat with local employers and organisations to discover careers, training opportunities and pathways across Derby - or just grab some info (and some pizza).

Parents and carers can access advice and guidance too. Whether you've got a plan or no clue yet, ROOTS meets you where you are!

You'll be able to:
- Talk to people who understand careers, skills and opportunities.
- Find out about education, training, employment and support services.
- Ask questions, pick up information or just listen in.
- Take part in interactive activities.
- Enjoy food and music in a creative, informal setting.
- Drop in - come for five minutes or stay for the whole afternoon.

What is ROOTS about?
ROOTS is about possibility.
It helps young people explore different options across education, training and work - and start to see what their next step could be.
There's no pressure to have everything figured out. Whether they've got a plan or no idea yet, ROOTS meets them where they are.

Who is it for?
Young people aged 14-18 who are starting to think about what comes next without judgement or pressure.

Parents and carers are encouraged to attend and access advice and guidance alongside young people.

Who you'll meet
Partners of the Derby Promise will be there, bringing together an exciting and diverse range of sectors including culture, AI and digital media, STEM, nuclear rail, creative industries and much more - showcasing the breadth of opportunities available across Derby.

Entry is FREE but by pre-booking a ticket, each young person can claim one free soft drink and one free pizza on the evening (parent/carers are not required to book a ticket, just come along with your young person).
