About

Souped Up Fords burst out of Newburgh, Scotland, armed with a
raw, high-voltage live sound that draws deeply from the blues,
rock, folk, and country traditions. On stage, they’re electric —
their performances crackling with the kind of energy that makes
every show feel like a high-stakes jam session. Ripping through
gritty blues riffs or weaving in folk-rock melodies, the Soups
never fail to pull the audience into their groove.

Influenced by Rory Gallagher, Albert Collins, and Johnny Winter,
the band channels the spirit of early electric blues: smoky
guitar lines, soulful vocals, and driving rhythms. But they
don’t stick to one lane. Their sound surges through folk-rock
passages, dips into country storytelling, and soars with prog
inspired ambition — all while never losing that bluesy
heartbeat. It’s this blend of styles, played with unflagging
intensity, that gives them their signature edge.

The Soups have played many festivals and gigs in Scotland
including Dundee Blues, Arbroath Bell Rock festival and were
even on the same lineup as Mick Jones legendary guitarist of the
Stones. Souped Up Fords are an experience. Their shows are
kinetic and spontaneous, with each member feeding off the crowd
(and each other) to deliver performances that feel both honed
and wild. For fans of blues rooted in tradition but blasted
through with rock energy, the Soups are a must-see.

Souped Up Fords are a four-piece Scottish blues and rock band
based in Edinburgh. The band formed in 2010 from a collective of
passionate, dynamic, and skilled musicians who met online and
bonded over their love of Rory Gallagher, Albert Collins, and
James Brown, among others.

Chris Henry - Guitar/vocals/mandolin
Rich Gregory - Bass
Gav Edgar - Drums and percussion
Mark Jones - Saxophone
