Biography

Shorter version

The Hyperjax are a British Rockabilly band from the north west of England formed in 1996 by Lead Vocalist/Guitarist Sam Woods and Double Bassist Bob Corner playing with a few drummers before settling more permanently with Wally P Parkinson in 2000. Originally playing 1950's Rockabilly and Rock n Roll classics in the local pubs and fringes of the more traditional "Rock n Roll club" scene before settling their sound which grew a little harder, faster and more of a modern spin as more of their own songs came into the set the band were deemed inappropriate on such conservative genre. Realising they were flogging a dead horse the band drifted into playing more indie band oriented venues and on support slots on the Punk and Psychobilly circuit.

The band went on to release three studio albums throughout the 2000's on Generation X-Rated (Raucous Records 2002). The Bottom Line (Raucous Records 2007) and The Wildest Card (Cherry Bomb Recordings 2008) and appear on many compilations. There live consistency took them far and wide over Europe, Scandinavia and USA as well as appearing at festivals such as Reading and Solway. Even though Line ups have chopped and changed after nearly two decades, their ability ignite the stage and create energy from audiences remains stronger than ever as well as producing their own innovated style. The line up today consists of mainstay Sam Woods with Neil Holden (Drums) and Dan Clark (Double Bass) and released their 4th studio album March to your own beat (2015)

In August 2019 the band released their 5th album Bringing the bad back home on a German label Wolverine Records.
