Biography

Spilt Milk Society’s music feels like the soundtrack to your own personal movie. Originally formed in Birmingham by brothers Harry and Adam Handford alongside guitarist Josh Hyde in 2015, the band has since undergone a series of lineup changes and consists of Harry Handford [vocals, guitar], Josh Hyde [lead guitar], Rob Ford [drums], Jordi James [bass], and Steven Holmes [keys], now based out of Liverpool.

They quickly established themselves as part of the thriving Birmingham music scene and gained attention from BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 6 Music, and Amazing Radio with BBC Introducing calling Spilt Milk Society “the most exciting band we’ve championed in years… they have a bold, energetic, and instantly lovable sound to their music.” Since successes from the release of singles like ‘She Tastes Like Summer’, ‘Turtleneck Boy’, and ‘Amsterdam’, the band have achieved 10 million streams worldwide.

Handpicked by Steve Lamacq to play at the Great Escape Festival, Spilt Milk Society have also made appearances at Kendal Calling, SoundCity, ValeFest, and Sonic Gun Weekend. Tour supports include Fickle Friends, Superfood, Marsicans, The Twang, Kyle Falconer, Tender, Toothless, Trudy and the Romance, Kytes, Far Caspian, and Feet.

The band was also featured on Spotify’s ‘UK Viral 50’, ‘US Viral 50’, ‘Brasil Viral 50’, ‘The Indie List’, ‘Feel-Good Indie’, and ‘Feel-Good Indie Rock’ and have a monthly listening of 140,000 streams cross-platform.

Over the last two years, Spilt Milk Society have been working on bringing their Debut Album 'Hopefully Anyway' to life. An eclectic, cinematic mix of memorable melodies and funky grooves, the album is due for release later this year.
