Old School Funky Family
For 14 years, the Old School Funky Family have shown their groove on stages and festivals of France. We can hear them playing in the street, but on stage they are in their own element: with relentless rhythms and original arrangements for saxophone quartet, their music takes on another dimension. The instrumental octet known for their own signature style: – Classic American Funk mixed with Nigerian Afrobeat and Jazz that showcases improvisation and interactivity. The Old School Funky Family shared a lot of stages and festivals (Portal at Roulette, Altxerri, Scene Bastille, Atabal) and festivals (Black & Basque EHZ, Jazz à Luz, Jazzaldia, Jazz dans le Bocage, Jazz à Oloron, Nuits de Nacre. ..) with among others Bibi Tanga, Tete, Alice Russell & Quantic or Angelique Kidjo, Hot Eight Brass Band, Magma!
"An original concert, energetic but beware: a groove in place, impeccable sounds, real musicians … is at the confluence of funk, jazz and afro-beat, it moved, and it grooves mightily!” Jazz dans le Bocage Festival
“It’s devilishly funky!“ Radio Nova
