Fritillariesare a folk/Americana pop duo made up of Hannah Pawson (vocals, guitar, banjo, harmonium) and Gabriel Wynne (guitar, mandolin). Musically, they incorporate elements of the English folk tradition, Appalachian string band and Americana. The duo have been playing music together since 2013 when they were 16. In 2019, they performed at Birmingham Symphony Hall, toured Australia and were finalists in ‘Purbeck Rising’. In 2021 they played sold out shows in London (Green Note), Bristol (Southbank) and Birmingham (Kitchen Garden Cafe); were played on BBC 6 Music and announced their eponymous debut album with Pear O’ Legs Records. They have self released 2 EPs and 1 single under their former name of Rainy DayWomanand have released 'Working Late' in December 2021 under their new band name. Hannah on the influences of the album “Last winter, my mumsent over a poem she’d written. Unearthing was about digging through the dirt, sifting through the troubles of years, and planting flowers. We talk a lot about time, pace and the seasonal nature of creativity; things need time to lie fallow, take love, time and patience, and often grow when you’re not looking. From being signed to the label and noticing the momentum that Rainy Day Woman were getting in mid-2021 as the world opened up, it felt like finally Fritillaries had been born.”
