Black Lotus, who was born and raised in Berlin, is an electronic music DJ, record producer and

founder of ‘Luminal rec.’ & ’27’.

With a background in art, design & engineering, and being a scientist at heart, she implements her

unique, abstract and feminine techniques to make her vision audible. When asked, why she chose the

arts, her reply is always: “It ́s the arts, that chose me.”

Since her 12” debut EP “Resilience” in late 2018 on Florian Meindl ́s ‘FLASH Recordings’ [DE] a

profile of dominant, hard-hitting kicks, sensual grooves and trippy high speeds was established. Like

‘HARDWAX’ described her in the past, hits the black: “Highly effective, driving and direct.”

A signature best heard in her various in-house releases, and in upcoming works on ‘Second State’ or

‘Illegal Alien’. Future collaborations will see her also introduce artists like Dustin Zahn, Flug, Jeroen

Search, Ricardo Garduno, Temudo & many more to her own vinyl-only imprint and experimental sub-

label.

2022 will mark debuts at ADE, Fabric London, Burning Man, Aquasella Festival — just to name a few

—and returns to clubs considered to be the cornerstones of the scene, like about blank//:, Gare Porto,

Ampere Antwerp and her long-standing DJ residency at KitKat Club Berlin.

When asked to describe her style, words like “spaced-out, loopy, trippy, schizophrenic tool-techno” will
