Nothing beats a music festival. Abandoning the stresses of life, the warm flood of joy when you get through the gates and seeing thousands of strangers who worship music as much as you - it’s heaven on Earth. What more could you want?

Well, if we’re being honest, we wouldn’t mind better weather. One of the worst parts of a fest is looking at the sky and trying to figure out if you should wear a t-shirt, hoodie, or waterproof coat. So why not try festivals in Croatia? With sunny skies, gorgeous beaches, countless parties, and some of the hardest lineups you’ve ever seen, Croatia is something of a dance music Mecca.

To help you choose from the many festivals in Croatia, we’ve put all the best festivals in Croatia in 2024 below. If your heart beats for electronic tunes, they're certainly worth checking out. So let’s get stuck in.

Terminal V Croatia 2024

When: Thursday 18th - Tuesday 23rd July 2024

Where: The Garden in Tisno, Croatia

2024 lineup: Hannah Laing, Mall Grab, Malugi, Azyr, Charlie Sparks, Frazi.er, OTTA, Funk Tribu, KETTAMA, Aisha, horsegiirL, and more

If Terminal V Festival is the love of your life but you can’t go that weekend, we’ll do you one better with the festival’s Croatian equivalent coming a few months after the original Scottish one.

For the first Terminal V Croatia, they've got a bunch of the UK's favourite international hard dance acts on the bill including those listed above as well as Korse, Parfait, LB AKA Labat, Kobosil, Tommy Holohan, and Faster Horses. Music will be spread across multiple open-air and beach stages, boat parties, afterparties, and more.

Flipping the dark warehouse vibe for an open, freeing summery setting, it all goes down at The Garden, one of the most popular festival venues in the country.

Defected Croatia

When: Thursday 1st - Monday 5th August 2024

Where: The Garden Resort in Tisno, Croatia

2024 lineup: Honey Dijon, Hannah Wants, Todd Edwards, Horse Meat Disco, Ghoulish, Floorplan, Girls of the Internet (live), Low Steppa, Sammy Virji, Sam Divine, and more

Defected Croatia boasts four days of music from over 80 artists and just 5,000 house music lovers. With the main stage, the beach stage, the Olive Grove, boat parties, and afterparties at Barbarella's, the best club in Croatia that happens to be open-air, we’d be impressed if you found yourself bored at any point during your visit.

And if at any point the partying starts to take a toll, you can get involved with some of the wellness activities they offer to freshen up and recentre before heading to the next set.

Focusing on escapism, inclusivity, and hedonism, Defected Croatia easily makes its way onto our list of the best festivals in Croatia in 2024, as it does every other year.

Love a bit of underground bass rumbling through your bones? Membrain is a small festival run by bass music lovers that strives to nurture its community while sticking with the original ethos that sparked the underground bass movement.

This atmosphere at Membrain has been compared to old-school raves while still keeping with the times, pushing the boundaries and exploring the scope of the underground bass sound. It all goes down over in Martinska, a typical Croatian paradise with sun, sea, and lush pine trees. Sounds absolutely incredible, if you ask us.

Where: Park Mladezi in Split, Croatia

2024 lineup: Adam Beyer, Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Boris Brejcha, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Timmy Trumpet, and more TBA

Ultra Europe, one of the world’s biggest dance music brands and festivals, will return to Croatia this year for another huge celebration of banging tunes and unity.

We don’t have the full lineup for this year yet but it's already huge even with only seven names announced. With the lineup already covering techno, trance, EDM, house, and more, we’re eager to see what other genres will be added further down the line.

Easily one of the best festivals in Croatia, Ultra is a shout for any dance music fan. And, with it all going down in Split, you can enjoy stunning beaches, sights, and markets while you’re there!

Mo:Dem Festival

When: Monday 5th - Sunday 11th August 2024

Where: Donje Primišlje in Karlovacka, Croatia

2024 lineup: Giuseppe, Confo, Ugly Ducky, Hydropanic, Back To Mars, Antonymous, Solarythm, Fagin's Reject, Gizmo vs Mysterion, Space Drum Meditation, and more

A bit of a different one, Mo:Dem is a psychedelic dance music and art festival with wild, trippy stage designs. If you love psytrance, especially the dark and forest varieties, this is the best festival in the country for you.

Mo:Dem usually has some extra activities to try if your feet need a break from dancing such as yoga, massages, talks, a small art gallery, and also a river you can cool off in. Music is spread across three stages, each with slightly different strains of psytrance and similar genres.

If you're the kind to pack a lot for a festival, you'll be buzzing to hear there are regular shuttle buses from the gates to the camping area.

Sea Star Festival

When: Friday 24th - Saturday 25th May 2024

Where: Stella Maris in Umag, Croatia

2024 lineup: Artbat, Deborah De Luca, John Newman, Hot Since 82, Ofenbach, Victoria, and more

Two-day party on the beach with an incredible soundtrack? You don’t need to ask us twice! Sea Star Festival 2024 is already looking brill with some beloved DJs on the lineup. Pair that DJ talent with glorious sunsets spilling a hazy spotlight of orange over turquoise waters, and, well, it already sounds like heaven.

Bringing electronic, house, techno, and a splash of indie, Sea Star has been blessed to us by those behind Serbia’s EXIT Festival (also a brilliant fest, by the way). And like EXIT, Sea Star has gorgeous surroundings to explore in between sets.

This year’s edition will be the festival’s sixth and it’ll be going down in its usual home of the Stella Maris Complex on the Istrian beach, which is known for its beauty.

Dekmantel Selectors

Photo: Dekmantel / Instagram.com

When: Thursday 22nd - Monday 26th August 2024

Where: The Garden in Tisno, Croatia

2024 lineup: Avalon Emerson, SHERELLE, Palms Trax, Job Jobse, Angel D'lite, Physical Therapy, Kampire, CCL & Objekt, Jossy Mitsu, Marcel Dettmann, and more

We don't know about you, but a five-day "celebration of sun, music, and togetherness" is right up our street! Back in The Garden for its eighth year, Dekmantel will bring up-and-coming DJs alongside more seasoned party starters to the Adriatic Coast once again this August bank holiday weekend.

Alongside soothing tunes at the Beach Bar, experimental sounds at the Nest, and more music at Beach Main and Magnolia, there’ll be huge boat parties sailing the clear, open waters too. Smaller than many other fests, Dekmantel preserves its intimate vibe each year. Secluded and small with the best tunes that play until the early hours, Dekmantel Selectors is paradise.

Dropzone Festival

Photo: Dropzone / Facebook.com

When: Sunday 7th - Friday 12th July 2024

Where: Zrce Beach on Pag Island, Croatia

2024 lineup: Darren Styles, Sub Zero Project, Gammer, Joey Riot, Warface, Phantom, Killshot, Anderex, Da Tweekaz, Major Conspiracy, and more

If you love the supercharged, distorted, energetic sounds of hard dance, Dropzone might be a bit of you.

Here, you can catch the wildest DJs up close as you rave your way through six days of pool parties, boat raves, and wild main stage performances from sunrise to sunset.

The full lineup is out and it's looking beastly with over 70 mind-blowing DJs and producers. Add to that the very little to no rain and temperatures of 27-35 degrees (complimented by the lovely sea breeze) and you're laughing

All of this in front of the Adriatic coast? Unforgettable scenes.

Hideout Festival

Photo: Hideout Festival Croatia / Facebook.com

When: Sunday 23rd - Thursday 27th June 2024

Where: Zrce Beach on Pag Island, Croatia

2024 lineup: Ben Hemsley, Bicep present Chroma, blk., Girls Don't Sync, Hybrid MindsSammy Virji, Nia Archives, Gorgon City, Hedex, Eliza Rose, Oden & Fatzo, I. Jordan, LF System, VTSS, Solardo, Flava D, DJ EZ, Crucast, and more

Jeez, talk about a massive lineup!

As always, Hideout Fest is back with a mammoth-sized lineup covering a fair few genres, including techno, drum and bass, house, disco, UKG, bassline, and more.

With huge, jaw-droppingly beautiful mountains around it, five beachfront stages, dozens of incredible dance artists from across the spectrum of genre, pool, boat, and secret beach parties, it's no surprise Hideout has sold out every year since it started.

Parties on parties with killer tunes in an unreal location - we mean, come on, why wouldn’t you?

Love International

Photo: Love International Festival / Facebook.com

When: Wednesday 10th - Tuesday 16th July 2024

Where: The Garden in Tisno, Croatia

2024 lineup: Call Super B2B Palms Trax, Adriatic Coasting, Eliza RoseJob Jobse, HAAiHorse Meat Disco, Shanti Celeste, CC:DISCO!, Chaos in the CBD, and more

House, techno, disco, and funk are in the air at Love International! Loved for its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, run by the team behind Bristol's Love Saves The Day.

Compared to some of the other Croatian music festivals, Love International typically sees a broader demographic of attendees, meaning, if you want to go to a music festival in Croatia but are worried you’ll be dancing beside people a decade or more younger than you, you’ll likely feel more comfortable at Love International.

Rather than pack the lineup full of names we'll all recognise, the festival books a fair share of artists you'll definitely have heard of plus smaller names, labels, and brands like Big Dyke Energy, 12th Isle, Itchy Rich, and more.

Dimensions Festival

Photo: Dimensions Festival / Facebook.com

When: Thursday 29th August - Monday 2nd September

Where: The Garden in Tisno, Croatia

2024 lineup: Eris Drew, Shanti Celeste, Skee Mask, Peach, DJ Stingray 313, Youandewan B2B Laidlaw, Saoirse, Helena Hauff, Dr Banana B2B Truly Madly, Shy One, and more

Delivering a solid programme of house, techno, minimal, breaks, disco, electro, drum and bass, and more, Dimensions is a fest with a reputation for chill, happy crowds.

If you plan on heading to Dimensions, you’d better have some stamina! Parties that rage on until 6 am are common here, as are boat parties, visits to Barbarella’s (Croatia's biggest club), after parties - basically just loads of parties. And, with a capacity of just 5,000, the fest has an intimate atmosphere, allowing you to really get up close to the artists and sink into the music.

Dedicated to great sound quality, fantastic artists, and creating an incredible atmosphere, Dimensions is simply brilliant.

Gates of Agartha

When: Cave Romane in Vinkuran, Croatia

Where: Friday 7th - Saturday 8th June 2024

2024 lineup: Adriatique, Seth Troxler, Vintage Culture, TSHA, Dixon, Avangart Tabldot, Bedouin, Yakka, and more

In a totally different setting to the other Croatia music festivals, Gates of Agartha goes down at an ancient quarry, where the lighting, lasers, and effects magically cast up the huge 50-metre limestone walls behind the DJ.

The music here plays from 9pm until sunrise with world-class production and stunning visuals by Ouchhh, creating an otherworldly, multidimensional feel to lose yourself in. Seriously, the visuals are next-level. With brilliant electronic music in a setting with rich cultural heritage, Gates of Agartha is an incredible two-day festival.

Finally, its debut last year saw the festival win Best New Regional Festival by Nagrada Ambasador, Croatia’s electronic music awards, so you’ll definitely be in good hands.

Sonus Festival

Photo: Sonus Festival / Facebook.com

When: Sunday 18th - Thursday 22nd August 2024

Where: Zrce Beach on Pag Island, Croatia

2024 lineup: Adam Beyer, CamelphatDeborah De Luca, Ben Klock B2B Marcel Dettmann, DJ Holographic, Chris Stussy, Dennis Cruz, 999999999, Patrick Mason, Marco Carola, Sara Landry, and more

Immediately smashing it with that lineup. Sonus recruits over 60 artists each year, typically of house, techno, and tech house sounds, to soundtrack the party of a lifetime spanning five days and nights.

With all those names plus Richie Hawtin, Pan-Pot, Kolsch, Loco Dice, I Hate Models, Clara Cuve, Ameme, and Adriatique (to name a few), the lineup is already looking stunning and covers a variety of dance sounds. Even better, Sonus is only just getting started with more artists to be announced soon.

In between sets, you can discover tiny, hidden beaches, boat parties, pre-parties, after-shows and more. Situated on Zrce Beach where the water is clear, the palm trees stand tall, and the sun shines in the sky, it's a beautiful spot for a much-loved festival.

Hospitality On The Beach

Photo: Hospitality On The Beach / Facebook.com

When: Tuesday 2nd - Tuesday 9th July 2024

Where: The Garden Resort in Tisno, Croatia

2024 lineup: A.M.C, Camo & Krooked B2B Mefjus, Kings of the Rollers & Inja, Metrik, Flava D, Fred V, DJ Marky, Fabio, Pola & Bryson, Grooverider, Mandidextrous, and more

This drum and bass festival brings pure heat for seven days straight over in Tisno. Hospital Records has brought some of the most celebrated names in DnB to Croatia since 2018. The festival’s lineup typically covers all types of DnB including liquid, jump-up, minimal, neuro, jungle, and more, and the same goes for this year’s.

Music will be spread across four stages, all close to each other so you can preserve your energy for dancing, the sound systems are brilliant, and many have commented on the festival’s great organisation. HOTB has also been praised for not being too busy, giving punters plenty of space to dance and enjoy themselves.

As with any heavenly music fest at a holiday destination, there'll be boat parties taking you by stunning islands as you enjoy the tunes and afterparties at Barbarella’s to indulge in, too.

Outlook Origins

Where: The Garden in Tisno, Croatia

2024 lineup: Eva Lazarus, ChimpoSHERELLE, Flowdan, Oppidan, DJ Storm, Dillinja, Y U QT, Tim Reaper, Surusinghe, Soul Mass Transit System, Mungo's Hi Fi, Interplanetary Criminal, and more

UKG and DnB on the beach? Can we just cut the crap and permanently move in, please?

Another one at The Garden, Outlook Origins welcomes killer artists from drum and bass, UKG, jungle, reggae, grime, hip-hop, dubstep, and beyond, allowing punters to chill or rave on the beach with music spread across four stages.

The fest offers luxury camping or you can get closer to nature and simply camp under the stars beside the fig and olive trees.

Afterparties go down at Barbarella's, the island’s primary open-air club, so you can continue to enjoy banger after banger while making the most of Croatia’s lovely weather, raving as the sun begins to rise. And with a lineup like that, you'll have to drag us away from Outlook this year.
