Breakthrough Dublin star Lucy Blue announced for Highest Point 2021
The Irish singer-songwriter will perform on the festivals Main Stage on Friday 3rd September 2021
Date published: 22nd Jul 2021
Lending a hand in celebrating the festivals' first instalment since 2019, future star of alternative pop, Lucy Blue is set to deliver an enchanting set of some of her already many acclaimed works, on Highest Points Main Stage, on Friday 3rd September 2021.
An extremely gifted singer, composer and pensive lyricist, at just 18 years of age, Lucy Blue is yet another exciting new artist to add to the long list of lauded acts originating from Ireland's exceptionally prolific music scene - joining the likes of New Dad, Inhaler, Kojaque, For Those Who I Love, and Grammy Award nominees, Fontaines D.C.
Following her arrival on the scene earlier in the year with emotive single, 'See You Later', taken from last month's debut EP release, Fishbowl (June 2021), the burgeoning bedroom pop star, who now resides in London, was quickly snapped up by one of the biggest labels in the business, Columbia Records.
Critics across the board also rushed to support the young star's talent and musical output, which, according to Blue herself, is the result of fusing various influences - from the rarities of Frank Turner to the aesthetics of skate magazine, Thrasher, the music of pop queen Gwen Stefani and Irish folk hero, Van Morrison.
Continuing on her whirlwind journey to the top throughout the remainder of this year and into the next, the budding musician is scheduled to enter the studio to write and record alongside an array of high profile producers, the likes of Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey, Rihanna) and Fred Again (Ed Sheeran, Stormzy). Make a note people - BIG things are to be expected.
Don't miss your chance to see Lucy Blue live at the highly anticipated return of Highest Point Festival, in Lancaster this September!
