Billy Gillies

When: Friday 24th May 2024

Where: Platform 11 in Pontypridd

If you’re in Pontypridd and looking to kick off the bank holiday weekend with a bang, here’s what you’ve been looking for!

Trance star Billy Gillies from Northern Ireland comes to Pontypridd’s best and coolest venue at the end of May to show the town’s biggest music fans a proper night out. Warming up the crowd with guests and residents before Gillies takes to the decks, this one starts at 8pm and continues well into the night before coming to a close at 5am.

DYSFUNCTIONAL RAVE: Riot Room #2

When: Friday 17th May 2024

Where: Room 2 in Glasgow

Dysfunctional Rave is back with another gift for lovers of hard and fast music.

With hard dance, hard trance, and hardstyle, Dysfunctional brings international acts to tear Room 2 to the ground this May. The Netherlands’ Winson makes his UK debut, joined by fellow Netherlands native NYCO, and finally, Glasgow’s TLØ completes the bill.

The second edition of Riot Room, this series is not for the faint-hearted, going full-throttle from the second the doors open.

Reminder that Dysfunctional Raves have a preference for black dress codes and that they have banned flash photography on the dancefloor to keep the experience immersive.

Arrival - The hits of ABBA - Waterloo 50th Anniversary tour

When: Friday 23rd August 2024

Where: Binks Yard in Nottingham

The world’s best and most authentic ABBA tribute, according to the BBC, The Stage, and others, brings the music we all know and love to Nottingham’s Binks Yard for an outdoor show on the terrace at the peak of summer.

Celebrating 50 years of ‘Waterloo’, the group’s second album, they’ll be performing all the massive tracks we know and love like the album’s title track, ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!’, and so many more.

Cardiff Bay Series x Escape presents: McFly

When: Wednesday 21st August 2024

Where: Alexandra Head At Cardiff Bay in Cardiff

Cardiff’s Bay Series returns this summer, this time with McFly, as well as previously confirmed artists including New Order, Tiesto, and Becky Hill throughout the series.

The pop group, which formed in 2004, is known for a slew of catchy tracks including ‘All About You’, ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’, ‘Obviously’, and ‘Star Girl’.

The award-winning band, with plenty of number ones and top-ten albums, will be joined by Sam Ryder to warm up the crowd before they launch into those 00s British pop classics.

Jika Jika Festival

When: Saturday 29th June 2024

Where: Ebrington Square in Derry

This June, Derry will be treated to another edition of Jika Jika Festival with a cracking lineup of dance music talent.

Scottish soon-to-be-legend Ewan McVicar tops the bill at this one where he’ll be joined by the massive Special Request (Paul Woodford’s alias which sees him cover all sorts from disco to hardcore), the beloved “genre-agnostic” Eclair FiFi, and CAOIMHE, who won AVA’s Emerging DJ and Mixmag x Coors Light’s DJ Academy Winner awards in 2019.

A seriously skilled lineup of DJ, ravers are in safe hands with this lot. Tied together with incredible production and incredible people, Jika Jika is set to, once again, be a knockout.

Thornton Rocks Festival

When: Saturday 7th September 2024

Where: Thornton Hall Country Park in Thornton In Craven

Thornton Rocks brings live music and DJs spread across two stages to Thornton Hall Country Park in September.

Former BBC Radio 1 host Jordan North headlines with a DJ set but before that, Tinchy Stryder, Ultrabeat, and Kelly Llorenna. There'll also be sets from SIX 15, playing classic dance with live saxophone for that Ibiza vibe, DFO, Richard Osadzenko, and RETRO featuring Paul Taylor over at the main stage for an afterparty that goes until 2am.

If you want to get into the proper festival spirit, feel free to bring your tent with you and camp over!

Sefton Park Social pres. Liverpool Disco Festival In The Park

When: Sunday 5th May 2024

Where: Sefton Park in Liverpool

Selling out rapidly, Liverpool Disco Festival heads up the opening weekend of Sefton Park Social, a new boutique festival experience with a series of genre-led music events.

Coming to Liverpool’s stunning Victorian park will be some huge names including many known for their releases on labels such as Glitterbox and Defected. There’s Dave Lee (JN) FKA Joey Negro, Pal Joey, Giles Smith, Lev, Moplen, Morgan, and Dharma Collective.

The sunny bank holiday party kicks off at 1pm and finishes at 10pm, giving you plenty of time to get your beauty sleep or find an afterparty.

Kamaal Williams: Bad News Tour + Support - Bristol

When: Friday 7th June 2024

Where: Central Warehouse in Bristol

Coming through for his first Bristol show in five years, Kamaal Williams brings his Most Wanted tour to the new and fantastic Central Warehouse in June.

The young star plays a key role in the UK’s current jazz resurgence, earning worldwide acclaim for his music, including his 2016 project Yussef Kamaal, which saw him collaborate with Yussef Dayes.

Support for the gig includes Bristol’s experimental seven-piece Snazzback featuring vocals from Bristol’s Rider Shafique and nu-jazz rapper Madly. DJs John Stapleton, Nathan Worm, and More Soup DJs complete a stunning lineup for an evening of incredible musicianship.
