Lancaster's number one outdoor music spectacle, Highest Point Festival returns to the magnificent and wide open grounds of Williamson Park this week, throwing its first summertime party since the outset of the pandemic that shall not be named, back in 2020.

To commemorate its sunny comeback, following its autumn edition in September of last year, we've dedicated our Essential Listening playlist feature to shout about some of the many acclaimed bands, jet-setting DJs and renowned tastemakers set to perform over the four day event (Thursday 12th - Sunday 15th May 2022).

In the playlist below, you can expect to hear music from some of the festival's most exciting headline acts, including The Verve legend 'Mad Richard' AKA Richard Ashcroft, GRAMMY-winning electronic trio, Clean Bandit, and the riot-predicting Yorkshire men in Kaiser Chiefs. You'll also find bangers courtesy of dance icons Judge Jules, Basement Jaxx as well as BBC Radio One broadcaster, Charlie Tee, sound system commanders, Shy FX, TURNO, Voltage and Harriet Jaxxon, and soon-to-be global queens of pop, Mae Muller and Mimi Webb.

Chock-full of only the best body moving dance anthems, sing-along indie classics and much more, we guarantee this week's special Essential Listening playlist will get you in the mood for the highly anticipated weekend of music ahead.
