To put things simply, Manchester is a big place. Luckily for you, Manchester has a plethora of ways to get from A - B via C, with Fallowfield sitting on one of the busiest bus routes in Europe. This means competition is stiff, which for the punter translates to lots of buses, and about 80p into the city centre. Of course the buses are busy, and smell a bit, but come on get over it, you're a student now. Just remember to smile, say thank you and hold on tight. The Magic Bus operates the cheapest service, with the option of weekly passes for just £7 or termly and yearly passes respectively. F

Manchester Galleries Love art? You're in the right city. Manchester is home to two world class Art Galleries - The Manchester Art Gallery in town and the Whitworth Art Gallery on Oxford Road, by the university. There's also the recently redeveloped and reopened Gallery of Costume in Platt Fields Park - which you'll pass most days on your commute from Fallowfield to the Uni.
