Lancaster's Highest Point Festival has revealed a list of new names for its hotly anticipated 2022 instalment.

Joining The Verve frontman, Richard Ashcroft, who opens the fourth edition of the popular event this year, recently announced headliners and Grammy Award winners, Clean Bandit will take to the main stage along with rock legends, Kaiser Chiefs, bringing huge and instantly recognisable anthems to the thousands of fans set to gather at the foot of the staggering Ashton memorial on Williamson Park

Accompanying those topping the bill of acts at Highest point 2022 - which runs over three days, from Thursday 12th - Saturday 14th May - are the likes of Basement Jaxx, Sigala, Example, Horse Meat Disco, SASASAS, Shy FX, Sub Focus, Turno, DJ & producer Emily Nash, Lancaster natives Lowes, Judge Jules, Luke Una, Charlie Tee and local hero Matt Thiss plus (Take a breath), indie favourites Reverend and the Makers, The Lottery Winners, The Sherlocks, BRIT nominee's Hot3, and breakout stars Mae Muller and Mimi Webb.

Escape Classics, Mr Wilsons Second Liners, 80s V 90s and the Funkademia crew are also all confirmed to deliver a shot of nostalgia, wowing crowds with a soundtrack of club, soul, hip hop, pop and R&B classics, whilst The Cuban Brothers bring their outrageously funny live show to the festival site once more.

As well as a huge variety of artists across multiple stages, there'll be a bounty of regional street food and craft beer on hand to help with the festivities.

New additions to the festival this year include the 'Not-tober' beer hall, a new area of the festival which will feature an immersive bingo experience with rave intervals, dance-offs and audience participation, karaoke, drag acts and more. There will also be a new drinks masterclass area, a bigger stage area at The Woods, plus more bars and more toilets.

Jamie Scahill, co-founder of the festival said:

"It was amazing to be able to host the festival last September after two years off, the crowd was amazing and we had such incredible feedback. Now we’re back to our usual festival weekend in May, and we have another huge line up heading for Lancaster. We can’t wait for the festival season to kick off!’

In 2021, the festival welcomed 35,000 ticket-holders for four days of fun-filled musical performances from some of the music industry’s biggest names, including indie icons James, Brit & Ivor Novello award winner Rag‘n’Bone Man, musical legend Rick Astley, chart star Becky Hill, Brit and MOBO award-winning singer/songwriter Ella Eyre, British electronic music band Clean Bandit, chart topping Rudimental, plus many more. Don't miss your chance to witness another stellar lineup of world-class artists doing their thing live in Lancaster this year.
