The Who announce 50th Anniversary tour

Mod legends The Who have announced a nine date tour dubbed 'The Who hits 50', which will make its way around the UK from November. 

The London rockers who played out a spectacular show at the Superbowl (see above) kick of proceedings in Glasgow at the brand new SSE Hydro on November 30th before drawing the curtain on their tour at the London 02 Arena on December 17th.

The band plan to play out songs dating back to the band's original name 'The High Numbers' after the reigning Mod rockers confirmed that they were planning to retire, singer Roger Daltrey put it: "this is the beginning of the long goodbye".

The band will be remembered for releasing classic albums such as 'Quadrophenia', 'Tommy' and 'Who's next', famed guitarist Pete Townshend said: "Thrying to stay young. Not wearing socks, growing a great big woodcutter's beard. Might even wear a check shirt onstage and get a tattoo of a Union Jack. Always a fashion victim. But under no illusions, we are what we are, and extremely good at it, but we're lucky to be alive and still touring".
