Nero 16/03/12
Overall rating: 4

Massive venue. Great artist. But SOOO many yutes. Also ends at 11pm (when the night should kick off and before the kiddies bedtime). For that reason probably won't be returning.

Plastikman 1.5 Manchester
Overall rating: 4

Awesome first leg of the UK tour, Plastikman was intense and so far improved from the original Mannheim gig, and the perfect progression from the Sonar show I saw.

Hefty funktion 1 sound and perfect sized venue, almost intimate! Nice building warmth from Ambivalent to start and a real shame Magda was troubled by lighting/monitor issues, the music was ok but you could see the disappointment all over her face! Plastikman was electrifying, lively visuals/lights complimenting a banging rendition of plastikman material, really throbbing at times. Gaiser was up next presenting his new void material which was eerie and edgy but a little misplaced, would have been better to take it down before plastikman i think, like programmed for the brixton show. And i know an hours not long by Hawtins standards but was really enjoyable full throttle Richie, last tune especially, and just what the Thursday night crowd needed before dispersing themselves into the bleak night.

Loved it, shame I cant make London, will be epic, and im sure perfectly produced as they will learn from last night and know the venue from contakt! If you havent seen it yet, you must, if youve seen it before, you still need to get involved!

Parkway Drive
Overall rating: 5

This was the best heavy metal gig I have been to in ages, they sound really crisp loud. great sound by a good band. the smaller overcrowded venue works much better for heavy metal.

Chase and Status at Manchester Academy
Overall rating: 3

Too many kids let in, chase n status would be much better having a DJ set in a nightclub instead of a venue which lets in 14 year olds (they seemed to be most of the crowd).

2 Many DJs / Soulwax / Areoplane
Overall rating: 4.5

Brilliant gig, 2 Many DJ's once again pulled everything out the bag, to the visual display to the supporting acts of Erol Alken and Areoplane. Good atmosphere, great night!
