Review of Islington Mill ‘Raise the Roof’ House Party
was pretty expensive and the music was bad. but the atmosphere was okay. the didnt do much for the countdown either. bit of a disapointment but not a terrible night. i just expected more. some staff were grumpy and rude too. although others were lovely... so its a mixture

Review of Islington Mill ‘Raise the Roof’ House Party
Super fun, the smaller room was the saving grace. The karaoke room was great as well. We didn't notice any pop up performances but maybe these happened in the main room. All in all the crowd was great, drinks were reasonable and the staff were really friendly.

Review of Peter Brotzmann\'s FULL BLAST
A FULL BLAST of typical 'wall of sound' Brotzmann in the sort of small, intimate venue where this music works best - conveying the power and emotion of the groups playing and interaction. One set of well over an hour of intense playing saw the 75 year old too spent for an encore - but listening to what he had already given, what more could have been added? Awesome indeed.

Review of Peter Brotzmann\'s FULL BLAST
In view of distance traveled... not just by myself... to see gig - and in view of the music played very alt rock/jazz etc (a rare event) - I would have thought a longer set would have been more fitting... rather than have folk itching to get out of the room....
I am familiar with the work of both Casper and Peter and a more comprehensive set list would have sufficed... There are a lot more accessible compositions to be had - and if one cannot stomach verminous skits from the pensive lips of the jazz sax then you can, at least, delve into the more soothing elements of the backing band - and i did enjoy the bass and drum interludes.
The backing band were of similar ilk to the above mentioned.
I like Islington Mill, anyhow... so it's not gonna be a bad night... irrespective... Crossing bridges must be my forte...
Let the originators of the Mill get on with it and all will be well etc...
Worth the ticket - but a longer more waffling set would have been welcomed...
Regards
Jonathan

Review of Day of the Dead
Wkd night! Absolutely loved the band choice, perfect friendly vibes... good skillz from the face painters, honest and fairly priced too - looking forward to my next visit! MORE tropical funk, afro, latin, cumbia and reggae please :)

Review of Day of the Dead
Poorly organised club night... I was expecting theatricals, live music and a cultured event to meet people and perhaps make things, and learn about the day of the dead transitions but instead we walked into nothing more than an overpriced club night with bizarre and I'll fitting decorations... Very disappointed

Review of STAUNCH: Return to Grey Gardens official Afterparty / Manchester
Great venue, I was surprised it was such an intimate setting for such huge drag stars but it made the event even more special and memorable. Excellent value drinks prices and selection, really friendly staff, loved that we had the opportunity to mingle with all the Queens before/after the show. Thank you, we loved it!
