Preview: Sunset 2 Sunrise, Blackpool

 With over more than 150 years of history behind it, Blackpool’s North Pier is one of the most unique and most loved clubbing destinations in the town. The guys behind the ever popular Sunset 2 Sunrise Festival have secured the 3 arenas for an unforgettable daytime rave.

Welcoming over 10 clubbing brands to help curate the 14 hour extravaganza, Sunset 2 Sunrise has secured a comprehensive lineup of the leading house exponents across the North West.

Amongst the 30 plus DJs announced are house and garage legends DJ Luck and MC Neat. Since scoring 3 top ten singles in the late nineties and early 2000’s, the production duo have since refined their sound and become the pride of the underground 2 step scene. Their live performance of some of their classic tunes will be a definite highlight.

They will be joined by disco and house diva Nikki Belle. With regular appearances at Amnesia, Privilege and Garlands in Ibiza, the songstress has become a major feature of the clubbing world. Her breakthrough in 2007 with her Whelan and Di Scala collaboration on the Womack and Womack classic Teardrops has led to a slew of club smashes. The singer and rapper has become infamous for her unique, party starting performances.

Other highlights of the Main Arena include Lee Drake, Klub Killaz and Jamie Buckley amongst others.

Sunset 2 Sunrise features two other arenas - the Retro Arena and The Deep & Tech Arena. Comprehensively showcasing the varied sounds of house music, DJs such as Ben Taylor, Ricky Isted, Stu Allan, Kurt Daniels, L A Drake and Arron Martinez will be playing everything from old skool piano house classics to deep house rollers.

This being on Blackpool’s North Pier, expect a staggering lineup of other attractions, from a full on fairground, to face and body paint stations; light & laser shows to MAC makeup stations; Ice Cream Stalls to Champagne Bar; and Food outlets to enigmatically titled ‘Twisted Entertainment’.

Sunset 2 Sunrise is shaping up to be the highlight of Blackpool's dance music calendar.
