New kids on the block Beatnik return with only their second party, and if their first was anything to go by, then we can expect Beatnik to become one of the major players in Manchester’s clubbing scene pretty sharpish.

Beatnik is a resolutely house night, an event thrown by house purists, for house purists. Their forthcoming headliner confirms this dedicated approach.

Beatnik are proud to present Robsoul head honcho Phil Weeks as the main attraction come Saturday 1st of June.

The much loved Parisian has been successfully combining his love of Chicago house with his inherent French Nu-school panache for sometime now, setting the world of underground house alight with a fresh way of thinking and an exuberant approach to production.

Having released over 250 tracks since bursting onto the scene back in 2000, the Frenchman is one of the few producers that matches his prolific output with an equal measure of consistently high quality. Staying true to the analogue sound that forged the pure house sound, Phil Weeks production remains a pure untainted statement that sticks close to house music’s original ideals.

His illustrious career has seen him working alongside industry heavyweights such as DJ Sneak, and Hector Moralez, as well as getting pregular plays from fellow DJs such as Danny Howells, Yousef, and Mark Farina. Weeks has also appeared on labels such as 2020 Vision, Music For Freaks, Brique Rouge, Detour, Adult Only, all the while running his own Robsoul imprint.

Phil Weeks is not too shabby behind the decks either, as regular appearances at Queen’s Club, Sankeys, Circus, Ministry of Sound, Back to Basics and Stereo alongside his Paris residency ‘Get Underground’ at the infamous Rex Club will testify to.

Without a doubt one of the leading lights in the underground house movement over the past few years, his set at Joshua Brooks is a rare opportunity to catch one of the most in demand producers in action.
