The Macdonald Townhouse is a grade II listed building in the heart of Manchester City Centre, perfectly located for the many business districts and to enjoy Manchester's shopping as well as theatre and exhibitions in the city centre. Constructed in 1870, the grand fa?ade of this former textile warehouse has remained largely unchanged although the building was converted into a hotel in 1982. The hotel underwent an extensive refurbishment programme in 2010, transforming it into a 4 star Boutique Hotel, whilst still retaining many of the features of the original building. Due to the nature of the warehouse design the contemporary designed, air conditioned bedrooms are spacious and filled with light from the large windows that surround each floor level. "would recommend this to anybody if you can grab it at a discounted price. the room we had was lovely and modern. it served a great purpose for the one night we needed to be in Manchester, but if we were staying any longer a bigger room would have been needed. the parking was a few minutes walk away and cost £17, which I felt should have been free. The staff were great whilst we were there but found one member of staff a bit rude to talk to over the phone. Had some brilliant service from skiddle also!..."  Read more »
