Review of Gin & Rum Festival Leeds 2024
Not enough stands for sampling products, it seemed that this event was purely a money making event - directed to buy tokens as soon as you entered so felt obliged to buy some. Due to the lack of stands the queues were massive, music was loud, this was nice for atmosphere but made it difficult for the few stands to speak to potential buyers.

Review of Gin & Rum Festival Leeds 2024
If you're a lover of Gin or Rum then this is the event for you. Established in 2018, this allows you to "try before you buy" direct from the makers.
Makers exhibit their product giving out samples after which you can purchase your favourite (although a few more of these would be a great addition).
Once your ticket is scanned on entry, you are given a wristband which allows you to enter or leave the venue at will within the times of the session you have booked.
There's an excellent guide to the Gins/Rums on offer along with a guide to the price should you wish to purchase as well as the recommended mixer to use (if applicable) and these were available for free with your drink.
Two sessions were on offer: 12 - 5pm and 8pm to Midnight and we were at the 12 - 5 slot.
A live band (who were excellent) played covers of favourites from 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s along with a live DJ who really the the place rocking (the consumption of Gin/Rum will not have harmed either!) at the end of the session.
The venue at the Royal Armouries was a bit disappointing. Given that it advertises itself as a "flexible venue", they should have either 1) allocated more space to the vendors & less space to tables; 2) arranged the tables in a more orderly manner to create more space or 3) allocate more space to the whole event
The issue was that people queuing for drinks were encroaching on people sitting/standing which created bottle-necks and was a bit annoying.
There are bars on one wall accepting tokens which you purchase on arrival but at £6.50 per token and no samples at these places, you are taking a bit of a gamble if you get one you don't like.
We bought some of the products which were reasonably priced and received "bags for life" (marked with the Gin & Run Fedtival logo) to carry them home.
The ticket also entitled you to a free drink to take home which turned out to be (ironically) a can of pre-mixed vodka & c**e.
Overall, we had a great time, had a sing & a dance, tasted some fantastic products.....and spent a fortune on our faves - can't wait for next year!!
