Two bands have won the chance to play at this year's Leeds and Reading festival via the Centre Stage Competition.

Since 2009, the competition has offered a spot on the hallowed yellow line up poster to young bands whilst also managing to raise over £180,000 for Martin House Children's Hospice.

Alt-grunge trio The Mallrats have earned the right to play on the BBC Introducing Stage while local alt-rock outfit Calls Landing (check them out above) will play the Lock Up stage.

The entire BBC introducing stage will be announced on Tuesday 11th August on Radio 1.

Leeds and Reading takes place from Friday 28th - Sunday 30th August
