We look forward to Detroit stalwart Terence Parker's new album ahead of him hitting the UK this weekend

Terence Parker is one of the old school icons of dance music. A selector whose career spans the full gamut of modern electronic music, Parker’s craft was first built up in the the late eighties as Detroit's answer to Chicago's house sound. Whilst other producers like Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson would go on to create techno, he stayed true to the thrust of house, and hasn't stopped since.
Affectionately dubbed the telephone man on account of his headphones being true telephone headset, his soulful grooves and phenomenal turntable skills have ensured he has deity status amongst house aficionados. His latest album, Life on the Back 9 is released Monday 27th January on Carl Craig's Planet E Records, and you can stream it above.
The first since 1999's Strong Songs Album, it's classic Parker, with a number of soulful cuts and string driven tracks which hint at the mesmerising command of real soul of American house music at a point where the company is entranced by a whole together different strain of electronic music. And he's heading to the UK this weekend to perform
He’ll be hitting the Kitchen Street pop up in Liverpool (new home of mUmU) on Saturday 25th January (and Manchester’s Roadhouse a day earlier but this is sadly now sold out on our site), offering you to catch a master at work. Head to the main ticket link to snap up your tickets or here for further listing details.
