The cream of Manchester's ska, reggae, jungle and D&B crop come together on March 11th at Dry Bar, to help raise money for the Vox Box Studio community Project.

So what is the Vox Box Studio? Well, it's a recording studio. But not just any recording studio. This studio will be built entirely inside a 20ft by 7.7ft shipping container, and will give members of the public, youth and community groups and musicians of all levels access to state of the art recording equipment.

The idea of the Vox Box Studio project is to bridge the gap between professional and community based music within the Manchester music scene and to give opportunities to people who would not normally have access to a professional studio the chance to learn and improve their production and recording skills.

But of course before any of that can happen, some money needs to be raised. So on March 11th, the first in a series of fundraising events will take place at Dry Bar, featuring a range of local live acts and DJs who are all involved with the project.

Line-up

Playing live on the night will be ska/punk bands Hated till Proven and The Fractions, and the reggae four piece Jeremiah Ferrari.

DJ sets will come from Herbal Sessions' Calcutter and Johnny Cruel Shoes, Cache (Dubterrain), Funky Ken (Ape), Rich Reason (Hit & Run) and loads more.
