Kendal Calling announce Fancy dress theme

If there's one thing we love more than a festival, it's dressing up in silly clothes at a festival. Which is why for many the news of the fancy dress theme for their favourite fun in a field party is a big deal, the starting point for months of meticulous planning and wild ranging imagination to kick in. Kendal Calling have delivered that news today, with the theme of Outer Space.

From Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd August, Lowther Deer Park in Penrith will be the location for a festival which continually ensnares awards (last year winning Best Medium Sized Festival at the UK Festival Awards). Saturday is fancy dress day, and this year it will be the scene of a sea of amiable aliens and amorous astronauts as the site becomes a science fiction lover's wet dream.

Last year they managed to get a place in the Guinness Book of Records with the most ever Supermans in one place, and they're out to do it again. Grab a record that is, Superman is shelved for the foreseeable future, with the surge this time round to get the most people moon walking - but the white gloved Micheal Jackson variety rather than Neil Armstrong's low gravity strides.
