Was a lot quieter than expected but all the more room for dancing.

Public Service Broadcasting

Fab night. Great band, worthy of the hub-bub. Drove down from London to see it.

Only downer was the rig/venue which has an overactive honk at around 250Hz.

First support band need to work a bit on tuning and perhaps leaving a bit of space around some of the noise (but that is probably the point!).

Second support very adept but perhaps not every loop has to be the same volume. But I'd hope to catch them again.

£3.50 for a can of corner shop Carlsberg was high.

Dodgy - Sitting comfortable in a dark place (by the stage)

Last year I saw a little nervous appearing Dodgy at Electric Circus in Edinburgh. The show was good, great even, but what a difference a year has made....
Dodgy set was brilliant from start to finish (well, in my case just short of finish....damn these last train timings!).
Standing Upright In a Cool Place has been played regurly in my house and car, so I found it amusing when Nigel said," some songs you might recognise will be played soon"...I knew all of this set word for word.
After a short break we had the pleasure of the Dodgy album. Now, I have all Dodgy albums in my collection, but of them all, this is the one I least listen to...therefore the irony of Nigel's comment probably only struck me, as I heard some of the songs from this set for the first time in ages!
The "favourites" of course are just that, so whilst we still wait for any sign of prolonged sunshine, "Staying Out For The Summer" still had us all singing and tapping along, like we were at a sunny festival of thousands (not the poor turn out of Voodoo Rooms on a Sunday night).
I've also got to give a shout out to Mathew's drumming, it was amazing to watch the genius at work!
Great gig and what the crowd lacked in numbers was made up for by enthusiasm and enjoyment!!

Something different

Great to have a daytime party... especially if you're going for a short trip and leaving early Sunday, or just as a pre-party if you're extra hardcore! Far too hot in the main room, otherwise all good!

Dodgy still as good as ever!

Brilliant concert. Shame the turnout was so low but it meant a great intimate show. The band played a nice long set and had some friendly banter with the punters. The new album is fabulous and I also enjoyed hearing some of their top tunes from the 90's. Nice one Dodgy!

Venue was quite good to be honest as no matter where you stood you were pretty up close and personal. Proabably more bouncers than customers! Barriers at between us and the stage were a joke. So much pushing from the back that I nearly fell over twice. Bouncers not great at keeping the small crowd controlled. JLS were fab though, lets hope the split is a publicity stunt!

JLS under 18's

took my daughter and four friends as a post birthday treat, they could not believe they were getting to go to a night club and it made it extra exciting. The staff in the venue were very helpful and my friend and I were entertained by the huge live feed of the set in the ajoining ACE's bar ... The girls really enjoyed the evening even if it was not JLS music and can't believe that only 130 attended ... talk about an exclusive, they all got a high five from the guys of the group and will no doubt have jealous friends who did not go. Need to work harder on PR of future events as we only found out by chance through my older son who is a regular! Would certainly take them back again another time.

My review on the DJ Set

I thought JLS were amazing, however the running of the night was awful! I travelled up from Aberdeen for a Meet &Greet with JLS, not a "Breathe & Leave." I felt te running of the whole night was a mess! I didn't know when the meet and greet was or when the DJ set started! I didn't see why M&G got early entry if the meet and greet was before the set. I feel that the meet and greet should of been before everyone got in so we could actually talk to JLS. I didnt spend over £150 on travel and accommodation just to see them for, what felt was 10 seconds! So, after that, I will not be returning to Miami again.
