Martin McAloon is a lovely guy. However, I was disappointed with the show. Maybe my expectations were too high. I love Prefab Sprout but Martin playing on his own was a bit lame and not lively enough for me.

First time at the Continental. Great venue, the gig space is just the right size to get up close to the performer, we had a good experience and would definitely come again. Lots going on and a good atmosphere, friendly staff.

It was a very enjoyable evening and his heart's in the right place - but - quite frankly - he needs someone with a stronger voice to bring the vocals to an acceptable level. It was like hearing classic Prefab Sprout songs from behind a thick curtain, with occasional snippets of melody escaping all too infrequently. Great venue though!!
