UK RumFest returns to London to celebrate its fifth year

UK Rumfest brings together the crème de la crème of the industry all under one roof, and promises to be an entertaining, exotic, and exciting experience for both rum-lovers and non-rum lovers alike.

Date published: 12th Oct 2011

This weekend marks the fifth anniversary of UK Rumfest – the world’s largest two-day event dedicated to honouring rum and sugarcane spirits.

RumFest is all about ‘celebrating London’s tropical culture’, by giving attendees the chance to sample some of the world’s most exclusive rums, as well as traditional favourites such as Havana Club, Bacardi, and Appleton Estate.

In addition to taste-testing tipples, rum-lovers can also lighten up their weekend by taking part in activities such as salsa-dancing, live music, cocktail sampling, masterclasses and seminars.

The brand-new Tropical Food Market is also on-hand to offer culinary delights from the tropics, including rum-infused culinary delights.

This year’s UK RumFest is also running two once-in-a-lifetime competitions; the first which is open to all visitors will seek to find the Rum Experience Chef of the Year, who will win an all-expenses paid trip to the Taste Festival in Barbados. The second celebrates the best bartenders in London, with the winner of Tiki Bartender of the Year jetting off to Hollywood for a walk-on part in an A-list film.

Remember to drink responsibly!
