This week we delve into one of Manchester's finest clubs, Sound Control, and bring you a guest mix by scratch DJ Yoda ahead of this Friday's Scratch Spectacular.

Duncan Beiny aka DJ Yoda is no ordinary scratch DJ. His seminal How To Cut & Paste series showcased a tongue-in-cheek mixing style that prompted Q Magazine to declare him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”, whilst Hip Hop Connection voted him “one of the top three DJs in the world”.

Since his debut album The Amazing Adventures Of DJ Yoda was released to critical acclaim in 2006, he has produced tracks with Biz Markie, 2005 MOBO-winner Sway, Princess Superstar, Jungle Brothers, MC Paul Barman, and a host of other vocalists.

Sound Control hosts DJ Yoda on Friday 19th October, alongside DJ Woody. Since opening nearly three years ago, Sound Control, has become first on the list of record labels and promoters to host live gigs and club nights for up & coming artists. A former music shop, it has been transformed into a three floor, 500 capacity venue in the heart of the student area of Manchester.
