Prydz is an artist who has gained both underground popularity as a Dj and mainstream chart success as a producer. His massively popular 'Call On Me' was a chart-topping success back in 2004, despite the fact that Prydz had only made the track to be shared around his friends. He followed it four years later with the iconic tune of summer 2008 'Pjanoo' which reached number two in the U.K. Prior to which he produced a re-work of the Pink Floyd classic 'Another Brick in the Wall' entitled 'Proper Education' and boosted his notoriety as an underground house Dj.
Any preconceptions which one might have about Prydz being a little too “commercial” or “mainstream” can be left at the door and quickly dispelled once you see him behind the decks in the early hours of the morning. Far from the commercialised end of House music, Eric Prydz in a club environment delivers deep, up front sets which leave the crowd powerless to resist. Thumping kicks, dark bass and infectious hooks punctuate his sets and ensure that nobody goes home dissatisfied.
As a producer he has good underground credentials too. Under the alter egos of Cirez D and Pryda the Swedish artist has released darker records such as 'Armed' and 'Knockout' which often send dancefloors into overdrive. Be sure to check out his bootleg remix of 'Good Life' by Inner city as well, which is a guaranteed crowd pleaser if he drops it in at The Warehouse Project.
Prydz has performed at a wide range of events around the globe with The Warehouse Project the latest on his calendar. If you're in the mood for a night of solid jacking house music then Eric Prydz is your man.
If your still contemplating whether or not to buy a ticket then the presence of the next artist on the line-up should make your decision much easier. Supporting Prydz at The Warehouse Project is the French Dj and producer Sébastien Léger. For those who are already familiar with Léger he needs no introduction however, if you have never seen him live then here's why you cannot afford to miss out.
Sébastien Léger is an underground Dj and producer who pours new light on the grey areas between electro, house and techno. His style is a mixture of all of the above and he manages to incorporate these different genres of dance music into both his live sets and releases. Léger is a master of using the different elements of electro, house and techno to deliver diverse results. Listen to his album 'Planets' and you will hear the throbbing pulses of techno combined with the energetic stabs of electro and the groovy hooks of house. The diversity doesn't come simply from one track to the next but in the heart of every one of the wonderfully complex tracks on the album. Léger has also collaborated with Chris Lake on tracks such as 'Hypnotized' and 'Word' and recently remixed 'Beautiful People' by Marilyn Manson. His record label Mistakes Music is growing rapidly and Léger is working on new material as we speak.
For a better idea of his live sets check out his essential mix or the recording of his set at the opening of Cream @ Amnesia this summer. Both are top notch examples of his skills as a Dj and both feature the variety that has made Léger one of the hottest properties on the underground dance scene. His essential mix also features an extremely credible remix of 'Around the World' by Daft Punk which Léger has resisted formally releasing, favouring to use it as a tool for his sets instead.
If you're lucky enough to have seen Eric Prydz or Sébastien Léger live before then you won't hesitate to get yourself a ticket for The Warehouse Project. If you haven't been so lucky then Saturday 31st October is your lucky night...
